2024 Ultimate Steel Framing Superkart Series Round 6
Squadra Corse Racegear partnered up with the club in 2024 creating a mega end of year prize consisting of a complete karting apparel package – Alpinestars Suit, boots and gloves.
One entrant from each round was randomly chosen to go into the final draw at the end of the year with the prize being presented at the Gala Night.
The final entrant for 2024 was Harbroindustries Brock Nicholas . Brock has been absolutely vital all year long as both a Driving Standards Observer, Marshalling in pitlane, Handicap Time Keeper and whatever other odd job we threw his way.
The winner of this amazing package will be revealed in just under 1 week’s time!

2024 Ultimate Steel Framing Superkart Series Round 6
250 National
1st Tim Weier
3rd Lachlan Crisp
Tim Weier came into this round with one hand on the Club Championship and the Most Consistent award which required him to finish all 4 points paying races to wrap them up. Tim was untouchable all weekend, even taking out the Handicap race
Qualifying got underway and Tim laid down the gauntlet with a 1:16.3, Lachlan Crisp could only manage a 1:21.5 and Tony was further back with a 1:27.
Lachlan struggled with cooling issues failing to finish any of the first 3 races, the problem was discovered early Sunday morning in the form of a cracked head insert
A new insert was installed for race 4 he was back in business getting down to a 1:19 and mixing it with the front running 125’s
Tony had a solid weekend in his Stockman Kawasaki combo other than losing a chain in Race 2 and doing some pirouettes up the main straight to wrap his best ever weekend with second place overall and lowering his PB in the process
2024 Ultimate Steel Framing Superkart Series Round 6
125 National
1st Russell Jamieson
3rd Nicholas Raymond
The 125 Class was absolutely off tap all weekend! Recording the tightest winning margin in Superkart history of just 0.007 seconds between Tim and Russell in Race 3. Some early engine gremlins cost Tim in Race 1&2 and stopped him from taking out top spot on the podium but he did come away with the fastest lap of the weekend and a new lap record of a 1:16.7 a huge testament to his father Craig and Tim’s development of that CRG TM package over the last 2 years.
Nicholas Raymond in just his 4th Superkart meeting took another big step to becoming a regular front runner dipping into the 1:18’s and getting the better of 2024 Class Champion Doug Amiss twice over the weekend! In Race 2 they were separated by just 0.1 and 0.3 in Race 3. Doug returned serve by beating Nicholas by just 0.01 in Race 4. Absolutely crazy tight margins in every race, this class is going from strength to strength atm with a big thanks to Chryss Jamieson for all his hard work driving the class along by preparing high quality karts for people to buy.
Further back Andrew Cain was enjoying his return and steadily reducing his lap times before a sieze late on in race 3 ended his weekend
Roger Dyke batteled cooling issues all weekend in the QLD heat, John Carter having his first Superkart drive in 22 years had found the gravel in Race 2 before struggling with rear brakes issues but he’s already keen to go again in 2025!
Lindsay Jamieson showed flashes of speed but mixed with unreliability and getting involved in a Turn 1 incident off the start in Race 4 saw him finish down the order.

2024 Ultimate Steel Framing Superkart Series Round 6
125 TAG HEAVY
1st Steve Murray
After some already legendary battles in 2024 tensions were high for the final showdown and who would take bragging rights into the off season
David Dyson struck first in qualifying lapping at close to lap record pace nearly 2 seconds ahead of Steve.
Race 1 David slowly edged away from Steve to the tune of 2 seconds by the time they crossed the line, Steve lowered his fastest lap by over a second from qualifying showing he wasn’t giving up without a fight.
Race 2 David made the most of the battle between Steve and Micah Bradley in the TAG light class to skip away from them both by over 5 seconds at the line. Micah and Steve batteled all race long with Steve edging Micah to the line by just 0.2!
Race 3 saw David make an uncharacteristic error spinning at Turn 4 on lap 2 allowing Steve and Micah through. Steve and Micah once again were slugged it out for top honours in the NGB class with Steve victorious by only 0.13
Race 4 saw David have to take evasive action off the start into turn 1 when Lindsay Jamieson (125NAT) and Michael Smith (85GB) came together. David bailed off into the gravel getting beached and ultimately a DNF robbing us of a final showdown in 2024. This time Micah got the better of Steve by 0.4
Another fantastic year of Superkart Racing done and a massive congratulations to all competitors. Hope to see more karts on track in 2024!

Fantastic to see Micah back in 2024 and he had an absolute ball mixing it up with the NGB Heavy drivers David Dyson and Steve Murray.

Handicap race
Race 3
2024 Ultimate Steel Framing Superkart Series Round 6
250 International
1st Ewen Burg
Fresh off some valuable time at the Coach Design Dyno, Ewen set himself the goal of a 1:12 around the National Layout at QR
He cranked out a 1:13 in qualifying and a 1:12 didn’t seem out of reach if everything aligned.
Unfortunately it all came undone in Race 2, comfortably winning Race 1 the stage was set for something special but on Lap 2 exiting turn 3 the gearbox output bearing went exit stage right collapsing on itself and creating all sorts of horrible noises. Ewen quickly shut it down and ducked into the ‘cut through’ between turns 3&6.
Despite a massive effort and parts from Brock Nicholas plus many many others they fell about 15 mins short of getting it all back together for the Handicap race
That 1:12 will have to wait until 2025!
The Handicap race has been a great addition to the 2024 format.
Based on your fastest race lap in the preceding 4 races, release times are calculated from slowest to fastest with the 250’s having to wait up to 2:30+ minutes from when the first driver is released before they are released from pit lane
2024 Round 6
2nd Russell Jamieson
3rd David Dyson
It all came down to the last lap with Tim (250NAT) passing David Dyson (125NGB) and Micah Bradley (125NGB) under brakes into turn 4 taking the chequered flag 3.5 seconds ahead of Russell Jamieson (125 NAT) who only snuck past David on the run to the flag by 0.2 with Micah a further 0.1 behind.
Thanks to @tiacs_ for donating prizes this year to 1st, 2md and 3rd in the Handicap. We hope to continue the partnership in 2025.
