He came he saw he conquered! Russell Jamieson took out 250 International class at Round 2 of the ZuCoins Superkart Series
Qualifying 4th in mixed and tricky conditions he nailed the start of Race 1 and grabbed the lead from the opening lap until the chequered flag.
Ilya Harpas chased hard and with only 0.2 between them as they crossed the line to start the final lap it was on for all money. A small mistake in sector 1 by Illy allowed Russ to open the gap up to 1.0 seconds before Ilya closed it back down to 0.5 across the line.
Jordie Ford came home 3rd only 4 seconds back. Can he close the gap and make it a 3way fight at the front I’m race 2? I’m sure the team at slipstream signs are already hard at work making it happen
Race 2 saw the Coach Design team make a setup change in the wrong direction robbing him of the ultimate pace to match Ilya Harpas but a solid second was enough to bank some points.
Race 3 and jetting a bit to safe saw it load up at Southern loop costing him valuable time before a storming drive back to miss beating Gary Wizzer Pegoraro for 3rd by 0.1 at the line.
Race 4 and all to play for! An engine change by the Harpas Team after 2nd gear failed on the last lap in race 3 at MG saw Ilya Harpas out on lap 1 seizing the spare motor. Russ took full advantage of that to claim his second race victory for the weekend and take out the round!
