Victorian racers Gary Pegoraro and Garry Haywood claimed their first Rockpress/Coach Design Australian Superkart Championships while young New South Wales racer Dalton Rowell succesfully defended his 250 National class championship after a day of hard fought racing at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
Attached is a newspaper article about Superkarts at Surfers Paradise International Raceway 17th October 1976. The first Superkart event held in Queensland was on 31st March 1974 held at the now defunct Surfers Paradise Raceway. Note that these events were run by the Toowoomba Kart Club at this stage. The formation of the Queensland Road Race Kart Club Inc (later turned into the Queensland Superkart Club Inc as it is today) came along not long after the 17th October 1976 event.
Round 4 of the Motorsport Zone Superkart Series this weekend (August 23 - 24) at Queensland Raceway will be available to view on live streaming. For anyone that's interested in streaming the event over the weekend below is how to access it.

2014 Motorsport Zone Superkart Series Points Update is attached for your viewing. We are at the halfway point in the Championship and the points are very close. With just 3 rounds left, 2 at Queensland Raceway and 1 at Lakeside Park, it will be a very hard fort and compelling viewing. As you would expect, with all the glitz and glamour that Superkart racing in Queensland is renowned for.

CAMS has just released a Bulletin in regards to rain lights which are mandatory on Superkarts. The Hella Duraled 2307 at the end of the year will need to be replaced with a CIK/FIA approved rain light for all Superkart competition in Australia. The implementation date is from 31/12/14.
