Well it was great to kick of the 2025 racing season after Cyclone Alfred interrupted proceedings in March.

A big QSKC inc welcome to Iain McIntosh ( an ex karter) back to have some fun in a very new Anderson Maverick Superkart.

Also great to see a new (refurbished) SKE EVO superkart loving restored by Brock Nicholas having its first outing. This is a very unique piece of equipment, with some very ingenious design, breaking away from the conventional superkart chassis and bodywork..

With 15 starters for the first race , it was a very high quality field of most 125cc gearbox to keep the fast 250cc national runners honest. Well for most it was a great race , but the “new paint work” curse struck Tim Philp on lap 2 with a front hub failure sending him off to the gravel at turn 3…

With the next race starting the Queensland weather opened and heaven dropped heavy rain as the karts left pit lane, so no chance to put on wets, just have to “survive” on slicks on a full wet track.. well some did survive and other well just was not able to keep it on the black stuff. see some highlights below

Have to be said…. the ‘HERO” of the weekend in my humble option was Paul Prineas, in his debut race meeting in his Energy KZ kart. Not only did he finish all the races but picked up third place in the 125cc national class.. oh by the way.. did a PB in the handicap race which he won.. hmmm may have to talk to the handicap organiser next time.

Winners are grinners….

It was also great to have a “veteran” of the Victoria Superkart club spend the weekend with us. Paul Stebbing is a fantastic gentleman who has a very prestigious superkarting career in Victoria and has 2 sons now racing in his footsteps. Paul was a great asset to our members on that weekend with a wealth of Superkarting knowledge and getting in and lending a helping hand where needed.. Picture below , Paul helping Lindsay Jamieson .. Welcome back anytime Paul…
