Round 3 Ultimate Steel Framing Pty Ltd 2024 Superkart Series
250 National
1st Tim Weier
2nd Craig Hillier
3rd Ricky Keane
A big field of 250’s started the weekend but it was survival of the fittest in the end
Brad Hall didn’t make it past Friday when his balance shaft nut decided to undo causing havoc Tony Fiveash had a water pump seal let go side lining him and Kane Otway seized it in qualifying
Tim took a clean sweep of the weekend but it wasn’t without drama almost missing qualifying after a O-ring failed in the carby luckily he was able to get out with 3 minutes to go and secured Pole Position. A clean sweep of the weekend see Tim extend his lead in the championship at the halfway point of the season.
Craig Hillier had his own dramas chasing electrical gremlins before qualifying but thankfully he was able to sort it and had the 450 4 stroke purring along once again. Mixing it with the ultra fast 125’s Craig had an absolute ball
Ricky Keane was flying in Race 1 punching out a new PB, unfortunately he locked the brakes off the start in race 2 and got a little friendly with the concrete wall he was thankfully okay just some minor bruising
Round 3 2024 Ultimate Steel Framing Pty Ltd Superkart Series
125 National
1st Tim Philp
2nd Russell Jamieson
3rd Doug Amiss
The action was frenetic all weekend long! An absolute master class from Tim and Craig Philp in their TM powered CRG chassis punching out some super quick and consistent lap times taking 4 from 4 class wins including winning Race 1 outright from Tim Weier in his 250 National. This combination had shown glimpses of it’s potential at Round 2 and it’s testament to the hard work behind the scenes by Craig and Tim to realise its full potential.
Russell Jamieson as predicted got faster and faster as the weekend progressed sorting out that new TM and Anderson combo setting a new lap record for a 125 on the ‘Clubman’ layout with a 55.2!
Doug Amiss had a weekend of frustration as he put it. Starting with some fuel surge issues before finding out he’s down on HP a lot of head scratching in the Bluff Racing camp and maybe an engine rebuild before Morgan Park in 2 weeks?
Round 3 2024 Ultimate Steel Framing Superkart Series
NGB Heavy
1st Steve Murray
2nd Tony Fiveash
Kicking his son out for this round Steve Murray was back behind the wheel although he found the lack of a gear stick somewhat interesting compared to his normal 250 ride.
He had some great battles with Casey Le Garde in his 85cc Gearbox that saw them finish multiple times within 1 second of each other.
Tony Fiveash burnt his clutch out in race 1 and unfortunately that was him done for the weekend but he’ll be back bigger and better in 2 weeks at Morgan Park in the 250 Stockman
2024 Round 3 Ultimate Steel Framing Superkart Series
85cc Gearbox
1st Casey Le Garde
2nd Michael Smith
Casey has become the man to beat in 2024 making that 85 sing! Casey is in a heated battle for 3rd overall in the Club Championship
Michael Smith made his debut with the club and loved it, A big shout out goes to Drene Jamieson for prepping the kart and supporting Michael all weekend. Michael made steady improvements all weekend.
