Wild 1 Racing Team

Wild 1 Racing was established in 2006 when we moved our racing interests from Sprint-karting to Super-karting. The team consists of my family & friends mostly, they are myself Brian (driver), my wife Chris team manager & crew chief, son Jamie (sometimes driver & crew) & good friend & business partner Paul Chaffey & last but not least my best mate Todd Gardner & partner Sarah as they are always on hand when the team travels South.
I would also like say a special thanks to the Smith family (Team TJP) as they have played a large part in our logo design & trailer art work & their all great friends of the family too

We have extensively competed in the AASA championship, Qld State & The National Championships with varying success but that's the nature of motor sport. Our highlight was in 2010 when we managed to win the Qld state title in our class 125cc gearbox class & also won a round outright against the best in the country, that was pretty cool & not bad for an old fart. We were unable defend our title in 2011 but we were runner up. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank these people & all the other people & businesses who support & sponsor our team, because with out there support there would be no Wild 1 Racing Team & they are, N & G Motor Repairs for all the tireless man hours preparing the karts (it's just mind boggling to say the least), Iguana Signs & Concepts, John (owner), Ben & Ewan ( aka Obi 1), for making & keeping the karts looking awesome, K 1 Racing (Kazu) for keeping the engines running hard & reliable & Craig Philp for his vast tuning knowledge & dyno work, Z 1 Karting (Ashley & Olga) for all the stuff I ring up for , wanting it yesterday . They haven't let me down yet ha ha, I would also like thank all the Qld Super-kart Club committees past & particularly present for their tireless work, the Sporting Car Clubs for organizing cams state race meetings , SKA & Shannons for their involvement organising the Australian National titles . The volunteers (stewards, scrutineers & flaggies etc) , because without them we wouldn't have race meets to attend & last but not least my fellow competitors because it would pretty lonely out on track without them. So anyway we'll see you on a track somewhere someday soon until then stay on the black stuff.

At the end of 2011 we had to do an o'haul of poor old #50 , so we purchased a new Stockman chassis as the original chassis had done it's fair share of racing & was ready to be retired & gave it a whole new look again thanks to Iguana Signs , unfortunately not long after this race meeting & photo was taken , We traveled to Phillip Island for Round 1 of the National Titles where I had an incident coming onto the main straight & left the track backwards & made contact with the pit wall . Luckily the damage was isolated to mainly body work & we continued to race . Again thanks to Todd who was my pit crew for the weekend , but it was another one of those weekends & worst week & meeting of my racing career so far I reckon . To travel so far & have the wheels fall off yet again is so frustrating

This little Top kart ICC 125 gearbox kart was the main stalwart of Wild 1 Racing for many many years & is still owned & raced by myself & many other drivers though it doesn't seem to like it when it's on loan ? , it just gives em grief !. I think it might be because when it's been in the hands of another driver it's been in some pretty big accidents , So I think it just says F*#k you I don't want to play ? But it is a lot of fun to drive most of the time to say the least
